Why do other coffee makers usually fail?
There’s a lot that can go wrong with these complex machines, from broken heating elements to blockages to electrical failure. The combination of coffee grounds and water is a recipe for dirt buildup and leakage - particularly if there’s an inbuilt coffee grinder.
Why this one will last:
This manual espresso maker is almost absurdly simple: hot water goes in the top, and you push down the arms to strain it through the coffee in the portafilter. There’s no electricity, no pods, and very little that can go wrong. The same goes for the accompanying manually-operated coffee grinder.
